Softest One is a song about summer romance and the clumsiness of the honeymoon phase. It’s supposed to convey the feeling of being excited about a new person, while being relatively unsure about what the future holds with them.
lyrics
Hot summer nights
Have got me feeling alright
Skinny dipping in those swimming pool eyes
Still not her only one
My baby’s got that strawberry smile
That I can’t resist
My honey heart
My honey heart
My honey heart
My clumsy heart
Picking wings off bugs
Oh, little violent one, violent one
I may come off as rough
But I’m just the softest one
Softest one
Still not her only one
My baby’s got that strawberry smile
That I can’t resist
My honey heart
My honey heart
My honey heart
My clumsy heart
Excellent production doesn't drown out the indie sound, but does provide a fascinating opposing force that gives the album diversity & shape. Alex Niederberger
